ISRO Launches Pollution-monitoring Satellite
Guwahati: the rapid growth of pollution in the country and in the world in general has irritated the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), and the space research organization isro new launch a special Earth observation satellite. The only purpose behind the launch of this particular satellite is to monitor the pollution created by the country's industries. The satellite of India, the hyperspectral imaging satellite (HySIS), in addition to monitoring the nation's pollution-creating industries, will also have other applications in agriculture, forestry, geology, coastal zone studies and inland water studies. A satellite designed to be useful for multiple sectors of the country, the HySIS weighs almost 380 kg and is launched in a solar synchronous polar orbit of 636 km.
